Ellen DeGeneres’ Mansion
Ryan Seacrest is the proud new owner of a multimillion dollar mansion now that he’s bought it from a popular talk show host. Ellen DeGeneres’ mansion sold for $49 million today to the E! News host according to reports from TMZ. The expensive estate boasts 9,200-square-feet along with three guest houses and sits on 2.87 acres. Ellen DeGeneres’ mansion was previously described as having “every conceivable amenity and state-of the-art security” and was once owned by Laurence Harvey, Joan Collins and Will & Grace co-creator Max Mutchnick.
Seacrest is reportedly paying within a few million dollars of the asking price and worked alongside realtor Kurt Rappaport for the deal.
Before its claim to fame this week at the hands of Seacrest, Ellen DeGeneres’ mansion was previously praised by DeGeneres’ partner Portia De Rossi. “We’d heard how beautiful it was and then we came over to watch ‘American Idol’,” she said about the property. “We pulled into the driveway and we just knew before we even walked through the gate.”
Ellen DeGeneres’ mansion is one of several homes the host has sold over the years. She attributes her love for renovation to her father.
“We never had a house when I was growing up, we always rented,” said DeGeneres. “But my father would dream, and we used to look at houses all the time. The first thing I did when I made money was buy a house.”
