Tracy Morgan Says He’d ‘Stab’ His Son If He Were Gay

Tracy Morgan reportedly delivered a homophobic rant during comedy show in Nashville, Tenn., that’s now causing an uproar among the LGBT community and its supporters.

The comedy show occurred Friday, June 3, at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Audience member Kevin Roger, shared his account of the show on his Facebook page, citing several of Morgan’s homophobic remarks throughout the night.

“… he feels all this gay s– was crazy and that women are a gift from God and that “Born this Way” is bulls—, gay is a choice, and the reason he knows this is exactly because ‘God don’t make no mistakes’ (referring to God not making someone gay cause that would be a mistake),” wrote Rogers. “He said that there is no way a woman could love and have sexual desire for another woman, that’s just a woman pretending because she hates a f–king man.”

According to Rogers, Morgan also joked that victims of bullying should stop whining, and that President Obama needs to stop supporting the LGBT community. But the joke that has drawn the most criticism was Morgan’s admission that if his son ever revealed to him that he was gay, he would stab him to death.

“He said if his son that was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not (he mimicked a gay, high-pitched voice) or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death,” wrote Rogers.

According to LGBT publication Instinct Magazine, an inquiry to Morgan’s publicist, Nicole Charbot, about the controversial incident yielded the simple response, “There is no comment. Thank you.”

LGBT website Queerty, contacted the Rhyman Auditorium about the incident, which released a statement disassociating themselves from Morgan.

“The Ryman Auditorium regrets that people were offended by statements made by Tracy Morgan during his June 3 appearance. The Ryman does not control the content presented by people appearing on its stage, nor does it endorse any of the views of, or statements made by, such persons.” – Ryman Auditorium”

This isn’t the first time Morgan has landed in hot water for a homophobic tirade. In November 2009, several audience members at Carnegie Hall walked out of one of Morgan’s comedy shows just minutes after it began due to his homophobic and X-rated routine.

Sadly, this time around, Morgan’s offensive and hateful words were met with cheers and applause from the audience, proving that this nation still has a long way to go when it comes to understanding and embracing people of various genders and sexualities.
