It’s been a tumultuous few months for Katt Williams. After several run-ins with the law, including high-speed chases and violent attacks against a Target employee and a Seattle bar full of people, Williams abruptly announced his retirement from stand-up comedy earlier this week. However, it looks like there may be hope for Williams return to the stage, as his management team claims he’s not retiring.
“Katt is definitely not retiring. He will be moving forward with the tour … Friday is Texas, Saturday New Orleans, and on to Alabama,” Williams’ management team told TMZ.
“The reason why he made remarks was due to him feeling totally disrespected by all the things that happen to him in the city of Seattle.” Williams’ management added. “He had a moment where he felt very unappreciated. He now just wants to move forward from those unfortunate events and give his fans outstanding shows from this point forward.”
Unfortunately, Williams is also far from done with his legal issues. He’s now been charged with 2 counts of 4th degree misdemeanor assault over his Seattle bar fight, during which he threatened the bar manager with a pool stick and later threw a lit cigarette into a family’s car, which hit a woman in the face.
Well, we’ll all have to see if Williams really does make his return to stand-up, but he certainly won’t be the first star to come out of retirement. Check out some other stars who unretired after the cut.
