As Paula Deen’s empire continues to slowly fade away, she obviously doesn’t need her agent, Barry Weiner, anymore. Deen has lost more than six endorsements with major companies including The Food Network, QVC and Target after admitting to using the N-word and made the decision to part ways from the man who helped build her popularity over the last 10 years.
While Deen hasn’t officially issued a statement as to why, her spokeswoman, Elana Weiss, issued the following statement on her behalf: “Paula Deen has separated from her agent … She and her family thank him for the tireless effort and dedication over the many years.”
Weiner was the man behind Paula getting her very first cooking show, “Paula’s Home Cooking,” on the Food Network in 2002.
