Phaedra Parks Suing ‘Vibe’
As Phaedra Parks has claimed many times on her hit show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” she’s no punk when it comes to her business and she’s fiercely protective when it comes to her reputation and family. And now, the star lawyer is proving her point by suing Vibe.com for libel and defamation of character.
According to RumorFix, legal documents obtained by the gossip site show that Parks has filed suit against Vibe for publishing Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil, by Parks’ former friend, Angela Stanton.
In the book, which allegedly “exposes” Parks, Stanton alleges that Parks and her husband, Apollo Nida, were involved forgery, theft and racketeering and brought her into their world of crime before abandoning her once she was arrested.
“Phaedra was this crooked attorney who knew how to commit crimes against the federal government. She also knew how to get away. Phaedra Parks had studied the law extensively, and learned how to manipulate the cracks in the system,” wrote Stanton.
Now, in response to the allegations in Stanton’s book, Parks is suing Vibe for $5 million in compensatory damages and $25 million in punitive damages, as well as a retraction from the publication.
This is going to be one ugly legal battle and we expect to see more about the lawsuit on the upcoming fifth season of “Housewives,” which has already begun filming.
