Sherri Shepherd took a circuitous route to fame and fortune. The Chicago native was working as a legal assistant in Beverly Hills by day and practicing her stand-up routine a few miles down the street in West Hollywood when her act was noticed by influential comedians who connected her to her first starring role in a movie.

From there she eventually got cast in the ultra-popular and influential daytime talk show, “The View,” the birthchild of legendary journalist Barbara Walters. Her brand of brutal honesty, wittiness and charisma has endeared her to millions of fans who see her as an around-the-way girl who keeps it real and helps others through her pain.
