‘Ev And Ocho’ Reality Show Cancelled
If you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the baller formerly known as Ochocinco, you thought very wrong. Chad Johnson has just been dealt another blow in the fallout of his domestic abuse allegations. After being arrested Saturday for allegedly head butting his wife Evelyn Lozada, the wide receiver was dropped from the Miami Dolphins. It has since been reported that Lozada will press charges against him after Saturday’s incident, allegedly over a receipt for condoms, left her hospitalized with stitches. Now yet another setback has arisen; this time at the hands of VH1 who confirmed that his forthcoming reality show has been cancelled.
TMZ reports that execs with the network are canning the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ and it will no longer air during its anticipated September 3 time slot. “Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it,” wrote the network in a statement. The show was set to be a spinoff of Evelyn’s ‘Basketball Wives’ program and detail their July 4 wedding and their time together as a married couple. Just two weeks prior to Saturday, the couple released promo pictures for the program. Neither Chad nor Evelyn have spoken out on this weekend’s incident. -danielle canada
