It’s been three years and actor Wesley Snipes, 50, can trade in his orange jumpsuit. Convicted for federal tax evasion, he was found guilty of avoiding paying as much as $15 million for his earning from 1999 to 2001. Snipes’ lawyers argued that his tax advisers, Douglas P. Rosile and Eddie Ray Kahn, who were also convicted, played Snipes into believing that there were no laws requiring him to pay tax.
Snipes was released from McKean Federal Correctional Institution, a federal prison in Pennsylvania, and is currently under house arrest. He’s now “under the watchful eye of the New York Community Corrections Office” until July 19, 2013.
