With the lack of diversity in the modeling game, it’s always refreshing to see a young black model or celebrity snag the cover of one of fashion’s biggest publications. Take fresh faced, Kenyan supermodel Malaika Firth for example. Not only is she Prada’s first campaign model in two decades; she’s the newest face of “Vogue” magazine!
Dressed in a cozy, wool jacket with gold embellishments and dark jeans with minimal make-up and a messy up do, the brown beauty is London’s new “it” girl and soon to be the world’s next top model.
“I’m proud I’m the second black [Prada] model, but also I’m bi-racial. I find it really good that I’m not white and I’m not black,” she recently told WWD.
Often called the “new Naomi Campbell,” Firth, 19, joins a handful of A-list celebrities to cover the coveted fashion publication. Hit the flip for a slew of beautiful brown ladies, all whom have graced the cover of “Vogue.” – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
