Jennifer Pryor says Nick Cannon has NOT been cast as her late husband in the Lee Daniel biopic

Nick Cannon just can’t seem to catch a break. On Thursday, we reported that the “America’s Got Talent” host hinted during an interview with TMZ that he has been tapped to play legendary comedian Richard Pryor in the upcoming Lee Daniels biopic.

Initially slamming the rumors were Pryor’s children Richard Pryor Jr. and Rain Pryor, who said that they just don’t think Cannon has the acting chops to pull it off. But in the same sentence insisted that Marlon Wayans is the man for the job.

Now, Pryor’s widow, Jennifer Pryor, is weighing in on the rumors, slamming Cannon’s credibility and making her own cast suggestions.

“Cannon jumped the gun when he hinted he had the part … because the film’s director, Lee Daniels, is still auditioning.

Pryor says it’s an easy call … she says Howard is perfect … an intense, brilliant actor who has the chops for acting and comedy. But she’d insist on him losing some lbs.” reports TMZ.

And while Jennifer may favor Howard for the epic role, he has plenty of competition with Marlon Wayans, Jay Pharoah and Mike Epps auditioning, as well. Who do you think should nab the role? – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
