Fans of the Harajuku Barbie can now rejoice. After days of speculation, Nicki Minaj has officially signed on to join pop star Britney Spears’ upcoming North American summer tour.
According to tmz.com, sources involved in the negotiations say the deal was signed days ago and Spears is more than pleased with her new tour mate.
The announcement comes just days after mtv.com posted an interview of Minaj where the Young Money queen originally revealed that she was in talks to join the tour and hinted at other major projects in the works.
“I am in talks of joining Britney Spears, yeah,” Minaj offered. “I’m in talks about a lot of things, ya know. I don’t know — oops, I did it again.”
Minaj comes as a replacement for international singer Enrique Iglesias, who dropped out of the tour just hours after Spears announced on an episode of “Good Morning America” last month that he would headline the tour with her.
Minaj is currently on tour with label boss Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and rock drummer Travis Barker as part of the I Am Music II tour until the end of April.
