Beyoncé sings live at Super Bowl press conference
After being blasted for lip-syncing at the inauguration a Destiny’s Child star made sure to silence detractors today with her live vocals. Beyoncé, 31, held a nationally televised press conference Thursday in light of Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVII performance. And before taking any questions from the press, the songstress asked them to stand and surprised them with a rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.”
She then admitted to lip-syncing at the presidential inauguration but said she would be “absolutely” be singing live when the Baltimore Ravens take on the San Francisco 49ers. “Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk [singing live] … so I decided to sing along with my prerecorded track, which is very common in the music industry,” said Beyonce. “And I’m very proud of my performance.”
