Big Boi is reportedly planning to join the cast of the British version of “Big Brother.” The Atlanta hip-hop star has reportedly already been paid half a million dollars to appear on the United Kingdom’s popularity reality show. If the deal is finalized, Big Boi will become the second American hip-hop artist to appear on the series, after west coast rapper Coolio–who finished in third place on the show back in 2009.

According to a statement from the show’s producers, they have added the former OutKast rhymer to the cast to generate interest.

“Producers always like to mix things up with an American star;” in a statement released to The Sun. “They hope Big Boi will do the business this year.”

Big Boi will join model Sophie Anderton, 5ive member Abz, Loose Women presenter Carol McGiffin and soccer manager Ron Atkinson on the show. There is also talk that the daughter of the late Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown, will join the cast.
