Cash Money Records co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams decided to address those persistent rumors that one of his label’s biggest stars is unhappy. For months, there has been speculation that Cash Money superstar Drake has become estranged from the rest of the YMCMB camp. But in a recent interview, Birdman dismissed the idea.

“Drake was a fan before a friend [with Cash Money] and maybe we put the most on the table but that was the thing. I thought he was a very talented young man so we saw a future with him and we wanted him to be comfortable, but at the end of the day Drake made the decision of where he wanted to be.” Birdman told Shade 45’s DJ Whoo Kid regarding signing Drake to Cash Money. “Drake is my little brother, I love him man and don’t believe everything you hear. Drake down with the team for life. I got nothing but love for Drake and the whole OVO camp.”

Birdman also pointed out that the label supports artists growth from all aspects.

“We support their ’emerge’ and [Drake has] the Nike, Toronto Raptors deals, it’s about you developing and becoming bigger and if you have someone not allowing you to be bigger that’s a problem; and we don’t operate like that,” he said.
