Marijuana is known to be harmful when it comes to sexual stamina. And, as Gucci Mane apparently discovered, that even applies to make-believe sex.
Harmony Korine, director of Spring Breakers, had the joy of directing the rapper-turned-thespian in his first sex scene. The only problem was Gucci showed up to the set stoned out of his mind. So stoned, in fact, that Korine says he was too baked to focus on the task at hand.
“In his entourage, everybody smokes weed from the beginning of the day to the end,” Korine explained to VULTURE. “So we’re inside this house in St. Petersburg, and the f—ing weed smoke was so insane and Gucci was basically catatonic. I was like, ‘Gucci, you’ve got to have sex with this chick now!’ He wanted her to ride him so he wouldn’t have to do any physical labor.”
At least Gucci was thinking professionally and committed to shooting the scene. But while they were able to come up with a way for him to have to do the least amount of “work” possible, he still managed to lose interest midway through the shoot.
“So we’re shooting the sequence, and as he is getting f—ed, I start to hear snores,” said Korine. “He had literally passed out! And she was riding his d–k the whole time. I’d never in my life filmed a sex scene where the dude was sleeping … and she was on top of him for a good 45 minutes.”
“At the end, he woke up and was like, ‘I feel real nice. I feel like Mozart’s on my d–k,'” he says. “And that was it, and he went back to sleep.”
Gucci has been at the center of the backstories from the Spring Breakers set. There were rumors that he got up close and personal with co-star Selena Gomez. And fellow cast member Vanessa Hudgens revealed that she and Gomez bonded over the rapper’s music.
One can only hope that the movie is half as interesting as the on-set gossip.
