It was only a matter of time.

There are rumors that superstar couple Jay Z and Beyoncé have already begun recording a joint album. With the “On the Run” tour winding down this week, the most famous husband-and-wife in music are allegedly prepping a full album together, according to DJ Skee.

Speaking on his recently-launched Dash Radio, DJ Skee said that he has it confirmed that Jay and Bey are planning an album. And he says the information came from more than one source.

“The biggest couple in music, maybe entertainment, maybe the world, they’re working on an album together,” Skee said on his show. “You know who I’m talking about, Jay Z and Beyoncé. I have confirmed and talked with a couple sources. Now we all know what Jay Z did with Samsung last year. We all know how Beyoncé came out of nowhere. But this secret would top all of them, even that new U2 album.”

Jay Z has a long history of collaborative albums; having recorded full-lengths with R&B superstar R. Kelly and fellow hip-hop superstar Kanye West. His tour alongside Beyoncé also comes on the heels of tours with those stars, as well as a very well-received brief set of shows with Eminem back in 2012. Jay Z and Beyoncé have recorded together several times, but this would be the first full album they’ve recorded together.

Both artists have tremendous fan bases and the “On the Tour” was an unquestionable success, critically and commercially. But are fans clamoring for a Jay-Bey duet album? Could this be overkill?
