Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun open up about the criticism Bieber has faced over the past couple of years in the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter. They reveal that, through much of his troubles, he’s had the ear of some notable celebrities who want the best for him. But Bieber isn’t feeling apologetic for any of his behavior, nor is he obsessed with what the critics are saying.
“I don’t give a f–k,” Bieber says. “Not ‘I don’t give a f–k’ to just be reckless and do whatever, but ‘I don’t give a f–k what they say.’ I know who I am and what I’m doing in my life and what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I’m happy with the man I’m becoming.”
THR reports that hip-hop superstar Eminem has reached out to Bieber, as confirmed by Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg.
“If you ever want Eminem to talk to him, he would do it in a second. He cares about that kid,” said Rosenberg. Braun also says that YMCMB rapper Drake has reached out, as well.
“He’ll text me,” Braun says of Drizzy. “[He’ll text] like, ‘What the hell is going with this? I’m pissed. I’m calling him right now. I’m about to go in on him.’ Drake is like a big brother to Justin. And Justin really looks up to Drake. They have an extremely special relationship.”
Yet another celebrity that has taken to advising the pop superstar is actor Will Smith.
“[Bieber] said, ‘Man, that makes me feel so loved. I woke up, and there’s Will Smith, one of, if not the, biggest movie stars on the planet. He took time out of his day for me,'” Braun says in reference to Bieber’s reaction to Smith’s support.
Bieber and Smith reportedly talk about once a week.
