Kendrick Lamar calls out Drake, J. Cole, Big Sean and other rappers in new song

Kendrick Lamar wants to separate himself from every contemporary rapper in hip-hop. With his guest verse on Big Sean’s new song “Control,” Kendrick Lamar channels 2 Pac’s combativeness and takes aim at his rap peers.

In fact, Kendrick claims to be “Machiavelli’s offspring.” And although he’s Compton-based, Kendrick declares himself to be the “King of New York” and able to stand as hip-hop’s leader by juggling both coast as the best rapper.

However, Kendrick Lamar gets specific and believes that he is only in a class with rap luminaries such as Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem and Andre 3000.

He eventually calls out J.Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake Big Sean, Jay Electronica, Tyler the Creator and Mac Miller. Kendrick Lamar suggests that those rappers are beneath him lyrically.

“I’m usually homeboys with the same n—-s i’m rhymin wit/But this is hip hop and them n—-s should know what time it is/And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron’, Tyler, Mac Miller/I got love for you all but I’m tryna murder you n—-s/Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n—-s,” Kendrick Lamar raps.
