Whitney Houston continues to struggle with drug addiction. According to her publicist, the 47-year-old singer is currently receiving outpatient treatment for drug abuse at a drug rehab center.
Bobby Brown, Houston’s ex-husband, told reporters that Houston relapsed to smoking crack cocaine after she recently went on tour. Houston’s overseas tour was marred by cancellations and fans criticized her weak voice and lackluster performances.
Houston first entered rehab in 2004 and returned one year later. She emerged in 2009 with a new album and more refined image. I Look to You went platinum and appeared to solidify Houston’s return to music.
However, during an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Houston revealed that she was no longer on drugs but was often tempted to use again.
Unfortunately, her destructive habits have also affected her 17-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. In March, photos of Bobbi Kristina sniffing cocaine were released online. –a.r.
