Terrell Owens continues to face public humiliation after being cut from the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. The team cut him after Memorial Day because Owens failed to show up for away games and didn’t appear at a charity event at a Children’s Hospital.
Owens released a statement saying his contract allowed him to skip away games and his publicist gave him the wrong date regarding the charity.
Owens signed a $500,000 deal and was made a part owner of the franchise. However, after the team cut Owens, they embarrassed him further by giving him a $50 check for the repurchase of their stake from Owens. Owens plans to sue the Wranglers for breach of contract and slander. Owens, who will likely be an NFL Hall of Famer, appears to be ending his career on a bad note.
