50 Cent Launching Online Comedy Tour and Show

Over the years, rapper 50 Cent has made some smart moves; crafting a successful record label, securing profitable investments and endorsement deals and creating his own brand of trendy headphones.

Now the hip-hop mogul is venturing into the world of comedy, launching an online comedy tour and show this week.

According to rapfix.mtv.com, the comedy show, “This Is 50 Comedy Show,” will follow the blueprint of Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” with half hour episodes featuring both new and established comedians, including thisis50.com staple, Jack Thriller.

Through a collaboration with Jam House Live and entertainment firm A&S Global Visions, the show will live-stream every last Thursday of the month on a new website, Thisis50Comedy.com.

“This tour represents a new era in comedy,” 50 said in a statement. “I’ve put together the funniest, most ignorant comedians you’ve ever seen and we will travel the earth bringing laughter, joy, love and pain, sunshine and rain, so brace yourselves because we are coming to a city near you.”

Fans interested in watching the show will have to pay a $2.99 fee to tune in and tapping into his humanitarian side, 50 Cent will donate proceeds of the show’s sales to aid relief efforts in Japan in the wake of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown that ravaged the island nation earlier this year.

“This Is 50 Comedy Comedy Show” is set to launch this Thursday, April 28.
