R. Kelly is denying rumors that he died last night in a tragic Jet Ski accident. Late Tuesday, April 24, news of his death began circulating on Facebook and Twitter. According to the inaccurate reports, Kelly was vacationing in Turks and Caicos when he hit a concrete boat slip while riding a Jet Ski.
“Preliminary reports from Turks and Caicos police officials indicate that the musician struck a concrete boat slip in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands,” sad a website. “R Kelly was the only passenger on the personal watercraft at the time of the incident. Specific details are not yet available.”
The false report was shared online so many times that Kells himself had to make a statement this morning.
“Glad I don’t even know how to jetski,” he said Wednesday on Twitter and attached a picture to prove he was, in fact, still breathing.
Now that he’s confirmed to be in the land of the living, Kelly can go back to making new additions to his “Trapped In The Closet” mini movies. The singer is said to have at least 32 more chapters forthcoming.
