Last month, Nicki Minaj seemed to be on the verge of signing one of the biggest TV deals of the year when it was reported that she was in the final stages of inking a deal to be the next “Americna Idol” judge. But now a new report claims that Nicki’s “AI” deal may go up in Pepsi-endorsed flames thanks to her original deal with the soft drink company.
Earlier this year, Nicki became the face of Pepsi’s new ad campaigns and the soft drink giant is even sponsoring her “Pink Friday Reloaded” tour. And according to the New York Post, Pepsi is now holding up Nicki’s contract with “AI” because the show is sponsored by their rival, Coca-Cola.
Producers are working quickly to try to hash out the soft drink disaster and announce Nicki as their latest judge as filming will begin in the next week or two.
“[Producers] want to see that drama between Nicki and Mariah Carey. It’ll make for good TV,” sources say, following rumors that Carey was livid after discovering Nicki was in talks to judge beside her.
Well, hopefully, all will work out in the end or Nicki may end up like the other stars below who’ve lost major contracts. – nicholas robinson
