'Parker' movie review

Stars:  Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce

Parker (Jason Statham) is a thief who is backstabbed by his crew, proving that there really is no honor among thieves. But his former compatriots have underestimated Parker’s commitment to his principles: “Civilized people need to follow rules. I don’t steal from anybody who can’t afford it, and I don’t hurt anybody that doesn’t deserve it. Most importantly, if you say you’ll do something and you don’t, I’ll make sure you regret it.” Parker’s plan to “put things right” means waiting for the band of marauders to steal something, and then stealing it from them. This idea comes courtesy of his would-be new sidekick, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), who offers the solution for a cut of the take, of course. The mercenary Leslie soon learns that Parker is not a guy to be trifled with. Trust us. –p.d. lee
