Brooklyn rapper Mike Rab (Michael Garrett) believed that filming his street activities would cause fans to pay more attention to his music. According to reports, the 38-year-old rapper hired videographers to film a drug deal and he now faces 10 years to life in prison for the crime.
Garrett hired the videographers to film a short reality series that highlighted his crew’s travels to Binghamton, N.Y. and Scranton, PA.
During the trip, one of Mike Rab’s associates was pulled over by a Pennsylvania state trooper who reportedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle. During the arrest, the associate, who was busted with marijuana and heroin, revealed that Rab had hired a video crew to film a drug deal in Pennsylvania.
The video was seized by police and Rab, who was said to be the leader, was arrested.
However, Rab’s lawyer expressed that the persona is fake and the aspiring rapper doesn’t have enough to pay for his attorney fees. Rab is currently being held without bail.
