Lil Wayne Slams Republican Tea Party, Says Obama is Criticized Because of Race

After viewers watched Republican Presidential hopefuls like Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, and Michele Bachmann go head-to-head on CNN’s Tea Party Debate on Sept. 12, many had with questions, comments and concerns about the White House hopeful’s views on social security, unemployment and President Barack Obama’s leadership.

And following in the footsteps of rappers like Lupe Fiasco and Nas, Lil Wayne recently spoke up about the Tea Party.

In a recent interview with VIBE, Lil Wayne criticized the GOP contenders political and social views.

“You learn from what the right-wing is doing and you take something from it,” said Wayne. “I feel like as a people, the most that we can do is better ourselves and learn. Then look at yourself and ask ‘Am I the person they’re talking about, or am I not?’ You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us.”

Wayne also commented on the Republican Party’s consistent criticism of President Obama’s administration, admitting that his handling of the economy is debatable, but saying that some of the criticism is more about President Obama’s race than his leadership.

“I don’t think I have to say that for everybody to know that,” Wayne said.
