Chief Inspiration Officer,
The McKenzie Group
So, you’ve
decided to sidestep the corporate ladder and construct your own?
Congratulations! You’re one of the 11.9 percent of Americans venturing
into entrepreneurial terrain. Be careful. The road can be rough and
it’s best traveled with guidance.
“A lot of people know they need some sort of assistance, but just don’t
know how to go about it,” says Stephanie McKenzie. “Once we say, ‘This
is what we do,’ people are really open to it.”
Stephanie McKenzie is chief inspiration officer for the McKenzie Group.
The consulting division of Exclamation Points, the McKenzie Group is
emerging as Houston’s premier urban marketing agency that focuses on
entrepreneurial coaching and consulting small businesses and start-ups.
The firm’s mission is to inspire visions and generate solutions.
“I find that there are a lot of people who have tremendous vision and
passion inside them but [they] don’t know what to do next,” opines
McKenzie. “Or, they’ve taken some steps but haven’t manifested the
kinds of results that they were looking for. My heart really beats
passionately for the small business owner and the person that has a big
idea but is saying, ‘Now what?’ Without the marketing piece, there’s no
business.”
Now celebrating the McKenzie Group’s five-year anniversary, McKenzie
finds that some of the main obstacles keeping small businesses from
flourishing are rooted in marketing dilemmas.
“Marketing is about bringing buyers and sellers together,” explains
McKenzie. “We’re not a big consulting firm that has somebody talk to
you and then pawns you off to someone else. We’re really intent on
breaking the mold and bringing programs and events to life that impact
people’s mind-sets and basically change the world. No pressure!” – adam jones
