A heavyweight in the health care industry, Aetna Insurance is committed to serving the community. “What I think is unique about it is that we’re trying to be more than an insurance company. … [Aetna is] trying to make affordable health care for our communities: African American, Hispanic, Asian, women-owned businesses and the gay and lesbian markets,” says Adrian Jones, account executive for sales, adding that this objective requires Aetna to go above and beyond what most companies are willing to do for their clients. “If you want to be a part of the community, you have to be willing to work with the community. [So] we just go out and promote brand awareness [and] support our communities.” 

Aetna also works to partner with other organizations with similar ideas about service and creating a health plan that includes healthy living. 


“We’re partnering with the American Diabetes Association to encourage members to take an active role in their health,” he says. “We encourage eating healthy, working out, and taking an active role in your health.” 

Jones exclaims that he couldn’t be more proud to be a part of such a progressive-minded company. “I have an opportunity to help my people and offer them affordable health care,” he boasts. “I’m [happy] working for a company that has a lot of advancement.
