“I’ve enjoyed every minute that I have spent working for
TBS on “My Boys.” I can honestly say that it’s been a
pleasure. There are some actors who are just happy to be working. And
while I’m one of them, I’m also happy that I enjoy what
I’m working on.”
Her advice to other black actors:
“We have to stick together — particularly the women. We
can’t get caught up in the competition. There is enough work for
everyone. There is no role that I can take from you that was meant for
you, just like you can’t take a role from me that was meant for
me. If we all work hard, we’ll get to where we’re going.
And the ride can be that much smoother if we all work together and
support each other through our victories and our defeats.”
The future holds:
“Endless possibilities. I’m looking forward to seeing the
future of ‘My Boys’ unfold, but even more than that,
I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career. I believe
that great things are on the horizon for me. I just have to keep the
faith, and continue to work as hard as I can.”
