Confessions of a Health Addict: Take 5, mediate to elevate your circumstance

Meditation creates power.

Meditation restores calmness.

Meditation manifests vibrancy.

Simply put, meditation is your time to recharge. Just as you have to recharge your cell phone by plugging it into an electric socket, you must recharge your mind, body and spirit by taking time each day to sit still and tune into yourself. As a result, you will strengthen your intuition and magnify your power to achieve your goals.

For effective meditation, plan to sit still for at least 15 to 30 minutes. It is important to focus only on your mediation, silencing the chatter in your mind. Do simple, slow breathing exercises. Breathe in through your nostrils, filing up your abdomen with air. Exhale and breathe out through your nostrils. Repeat this cycle until your meditation is done. As you breathe, take time to reflect on positive ideas.

Immediately, you’ll notice a general feeling of positivity that’s sure to uplift you and everyone around you. Additionally, regular meditation lowers blood pressure and increases memory. –kim yokely
