Like the inevitable changing of the seasons, each year brings a new Sandra Bullock romantic comedy. This year’s version, The Proposal, finds Bullocks pairing up with the always physically fit Ryan Reynolds to star in a film based on a fake marriage gone awry. While Bullock continues to show strong box-office numbers among the chick flick-loving faction of our population, this particular critic has grown tired of this one-trick pony. Maybe she and Matthew McConaughey should team up to create the mother of all romantic comedies and official retire from this genre together. –dewayne rogers
