In recent years, R&B has hit a brick wall in terms of originality. Fortunately for the 20 and 30-somethings, 13 year vet, Ginuwine, has returned to provide the game with a much needed sense of nostalgia. G doesn’t seem to have lost a step as he croons to the fairer sex on slow jams like “Last Chance” and “One Time For Love.” But equally impressive is how he channels his inner Terius Nash (aka The Dream) to drop the sure-fire hit, “Trouble,” with Texas legend Bun B.
Too often older artists return from hiatus and try to mimic the current fads and trends. No worries here though, on his latest release, Ginuwine is just the same ole’ G. -A. Hugh Leonard III
