Atlanta Falcons Defensive End Jamaal Anderson Sets the Record Straight

Atlanta Falcon's Defensive End Jamaal Glen Anderson wants his family, fans and friends know he is not the Jamal Anderson that was recently arrested on drug charges. In light of the former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson’s recent arrest for drug possession in Atlanta, current NFL player Atlanta Falcons defensive end defends his name and image:

“Since our names sound the same, I understand the nonstop mix-up between me and Mr. Jamal Anderson, the retired running back for the Atlanta Falcons. I just wanted my family, friends, fans to know that my name is spelled with two (2) A – JAMAAL.

Some of the current news reports or references have been inaccurate about me and are upsetting my family and friends. For the record, my name is Jamaal Glenn Anderson, #98 of the 2009 NFC Playoffs Atlanta Falcons team.

I was actually celebrating my 23rd birthday with family, friends and teammates this weekend as a kickoff for my Jamaal Anderson Foundation to benefit programs for the deaf community.

My family and I would like to extend our prayers to Mr. Anderson and his family during this difficult time.” — JAMAAL ANDERSON

(Statement from current NFL Player, Atlanta Falcons Defensive End #98, 2007 No. 1 NFL Draft Pick, 2009 NFC Playoffs Player and 2009 NFL All-Star nominee).
