Ports 1961 Spring/Summer 2010 collection runway show had an extraordinary opening day at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This season, designer Tia Cibani experiments with bias cuts and stiffer fabrics that capture the essence of women and the elegance of the female form. Traditional
silk, cotton, tropical wool and linen garments stormed the runway. Most
were accessorized with chunky heels and necklaces while other looks were paired with traditional flats and even Oxfords, mimicking the style of
a dandy. Cibani shows love for blush hues, adapting shades of dawn,
conch and oyster for her After Five wear.
Fluere, the chic moniker adopted by Cibani for her new collection, is for the graceful and sexy, whose mannerisms emulate our 1930’s style icon, Josephine Baker. –yvette caslin
