NBA All-Star Chris Paul Writes Children's Book

Chris Paul has overcome tremendous odds to become one of the
best basketball players in the world. Generously listed at 6 feet tall, Paul
does not resemble the prototypical NBA player. But in a league where the
average basketball player is 6 feet 7 inches tall, he has dominated consistently on the
court. With the release of his first children’s book, Long Shot: Never Too Small to Dream Big, Paul encourages youngsters to aspire for success.

The book takes a look at the
obstacles that Paul faced when he decided to play basketball as a youth. Often
the shortest kid on the basketball team, he was told that he was too small to
play the game and should quit. But with his family’s encouragement, Paul continued to practice,
outworked his competitors and made the basketball team.  Paul believes a solid work ethic should be
applied to every aspect of life.

“Understand that the
book is about basketball because it’s me and that’s what I do,” Paul said.
“But, in everything it may be school work, a job, business, anything. When
people tell you it’s a long shot to get this job, and you have to start from
the bottom, if you believe and you work hard and put the work ethic in,
anything is possible. It’s basketball for me, but for you it may be
anything.” –a.r.
