Shawty Lo started the New Year with a bang. He brought out heavy hitters Ludacris and The-Dream to shoot the video for his new banger “Atlanta, GA.” The single is off his sophomore album, I Am Carlos, and also features Gucci Mane, who is currently incarcerated.
The shoot took place at Club Crucial, with cameos by Ceelo, Big Gipp, Gotti, Soulja Boy, Wacka Flocka, Killer Mike, and many more.
How did you come up with the concept for the song?
The concept of the song came about naturally because I was born and raised in Atlanta [a Grady baby] and wanted to do something special for my city. It’s been a minute since we had a song like this, so I thought the timing was right.
What made you choose The-Dream and Ludacris to be featured on the song?
I needed someone who could sing on the hook and I thought of Dream and I’ve worked with Luda and Gucci before so it came together perfectly.
What else have you been up to?
I’m still working on my album, I Am Carlos. I’ve been in the studio grinding every night coming up with new material so I’ll have a lot to choose from when I put the album together. Right now I’m really just focusing on the streets and I’m putting out a new mixtape this month with DJ Scream called I’m Da Man, Part 4.
