2010 International Civil Rights Walk of Fame Salutes Political, Business, Civil Rights Leaders

Xernona Clayton

The International Civil Rights Walk of Fame’s induction ceremony is held annually on the eve of Black History Month. This year’s festivities took place Jan. 29 in Atlanta at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.

The International Civil Rights Walk of Fame was created by Trumpet Awards founder Xernona Clayton, “to establish a permanent tribute to the brave warriors of justice who sacrificed and struggled to make equality a reality for all.”  The seventh annual ceremony was hosted by radio personality Frank Ski of V-103’s “Frank & Wanda In the Morning” show and Clayton. Well-wishers included civil rights stalwart Rev. Joseph Lowery and Evelyn Lowery, as well as Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. –christian johnson
