Tashera Simmons confirmed to allhiphop.com that a book, Strength of Woman, will strongly contradict the public’s perception of the glamorous life of a multiplatinum rapper and prolific actor.
DMX, born Earl Simmons, made music industry history when five consecutive albums debuted at the top of the Billboard pop charts. He also showed a flair for delivering gritty performances in acting gigs such as Belly, Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds.
But that’s not what the book will be about. What the wife’s book is expected to touch on is the fact that:
DMX has been arrested every single year since 1999 on charges ranging from impersonating a police officer to animal abuse.
He has been hit with at least two paternity suits throughout the years, including one woman from Baltimore and another from Buffalo, N.Y.
DMX was ordered by a court to fork over $1.5 million to the Baltimore woman in response to paternity claims. DMX countered by trying to accuse the woman of raping him.
