Michael Vick may have put himself in a position to be suspended from the NFL for a second time. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is investigating an incident that occurred at Vick’s birthday party at a Virginia nightclub on June 25.
According to reports, Quanis Phillips, one of Vick’s fellow defendants in his dog-fighting case, was shot in the leg while at the nightclub. Philips crashed the party and was shot after he was asked to leave. Vick has spoke to police, but Goodell wants to know if he was involved in any way with the shooting.
Vick apparently has yet to learn a lesson from the dog-fighting conviction that nearly destroyed his chances to make a living in the NFL. Because of his $24.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, he’s fortunate to have enough money to throw an elaborate private party with adequate security. It’s unfortunate that Vick continues to display the bad judgement that caused him to spend 24 months of his life in prison. –amir shaw
