NFL rookie Brandon Spikes has already made headlines for an off-field incident that could tarnish his image before he plays one minute of professional football. Spikes, a standout player at the University of Florida and a first-year player for the New England Patriots, recorded himself receiving oral sex from a woman while on a Web site where users can video chat live by webcam. The video has since been featured on several prominent Web sites.
Spikes’ agent told reporters that his client was embarrassed by the video and claims that it was made while he was in college. However, the NFL or the Patriots may still seek to punish Spikes for player misconduct because his actions have become a negative reflection on his franchise and the league. He could face a hefty fine or even be suspended after the investigation is complete.

take a hands-off approach to mishaps from the past? –a.r.
