In rolling out’s cover story last week, we celebrated the fact that T.I. had turned the corner. After his latest brush with the law, he appeared steadfast in his resolve to never spend another minute behind bars. Sadly, his resolve isn’t as strong as we thought. Here’s the report from TMZ.
TMZ has learned they were arrested tonight and booked for alleged possession of a controlled substance. Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over the multiplatinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Deputies say they smelled marijuana, and after searching the vehicle they arrested T.I. and Tameka. The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. — real name Clifford Harris Jr. — is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges. We’re told T.I. and Tameka are in custody right now. Bail amount is $10,000.
Why, why, why Tip??? Did you lose sight of the fact that the justice system will only give you a limited number of times to mess up? Did you forget about the positive example that you said you wanted to set for your kids.
And what about you Tiny? You should be doing all that you can to make sure that your husband stays on the straight and narrow … that doesn’t include being his drug buddy. This is a shame. –djr
