Wyclef’s song “Gone Till November” keeps playing in my head. Does that mean that I’m a fan of the aspiring Haitian politician? Hardly. I’ve just decided that his anthem will now serve as my theme song for T.I. and Tiny until we find out their fate following an unsuccessful attempt to “ride dirty.”
When the news initially hit, rolling out staffers debated whether or not the LAPD was out to bring down another successful black man by stopping him without cause. The validity of that argument however, has to be determined … all we do know is that when the car was searched, the newlyweds’ Maybach resembled a small pharmacy with drugs ranging from marijuana to methamphetamines and ecstasy.
Some night they were planning to have …
But that desire to live the rock star life was all for naught — both were booked on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance. It’s too bad too; ro had lauded their decision to get married and show blacks a positive example of marriage, they have all but destroyed that good will by coming across as two out-of-control druggies.
Now that assessment might seem a bit harsh, but how else can you label the behavior of a former felon who continues to do everything within his power to throw away his career? It all seems a bit out of control.
For a moment though, let’s get away from T.I.’s trouble and remember his artistry with this special rolling out and Hip Hop On Demand video mix. This is the Tip that the world knows and loves … not the guy that seems to enjoy the hue of prison orange. –djr
