Snoop Still Making Moves: Music Added to ‘Rock Band’ Video Game

altSnoop may present himself as a smoked out O.G. in the media, but behind the scenes, he’s making serious business moves. His music, eight songs in total, are being added to the popular video game, “Rock Band.” That’s serious loot.

He will join the ranks of Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, and will be the first hip-hop artist to be featured. “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” ”Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and “Sensual Seduction” will all be part of the package.

Snoop is up in age and his recording career is on the back end, but that’s not stopping him from finding ways to remain in the game. The typical path for a rapper is from hot to obscure in the blink of an eye, but they’d do well to start taking notes from the savvy like Snoop, Jay-Z, Kanye – even Lil Kim, etc., who know how to reinvent and brand themselves as astute businessmen (and women). The partying and carousing is just a smoke screen … they know the real deal.

The game will be released Tuesday. –gerald radford
