While Joe Jackson has been openly campaigning to step in front of any video camera that’s on and filming, Katherine, his estranged wife and Jackson family matriarch, has been quietly handling her business behind the scenes.
Not only is Katherine raising the three children of her deceased son Michael, but she’s also been on a quest to make sure that those responsible for the King of Pop’s death are held responsible.
Her latest efforts to see justice served come in the form of a lawsuit levied against AEG Live, the concert promoter responsible for Michael’s comeback tour.
The complaint was filed Wednesday, Sept. 15 in Los Angeles and accuses AEG Live, director Kenny Ortega, and other AEG executives of neglecting to honor their agreement to provide the doctor caring for Michael with lifesaving equipment. The suit also says that AEG Live is responsible for the actions of Dr. Conrad Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Jackson.
“Due to AEG’s actions and inaction, three loving children lost their father, a loving mother and father lost their son, the Jackson siblings lost their brother and the world lost its most celebrated entertainer,” the complaint says.
On behalf of the Jackson family and children, Katherine is seeking unspecified damages, attorney’s fees and the cost of the lawsuit. The moral of this story is simple: don’t you dare mess with a mother’s child.
