According to the Newnan Times Herald, the Newnan City Council has approved a request from the production company, and shooting will take place Feb. 16-18.
The production company has requested to film scenes at 75 East Broad St and a portion of Thompson Street and Wall Street between Salbide Avenue and East Broad Street on Feb. 18 in the exurban Georgia town.
The movie is currently titled Joyful Noise. It is about two choir members — portrayed by Parton and Latifah — who have different opinions on how to win a national choir competition. Things get complicated when Dolly’s grandson falls in love with Queen Latifah’s daughter.
Latifah and Parton have been spotted taking in Atlanta and shopping near the Midtown and Vinings areas.
