‘Real Housewives of D.C.’ Cancelled?

“The Real Housewives of D.C.” just couldn’t bring the heat, and, little do they know, Bravo is going to let them go.

At least that’s what the blogosphere is reporting.

Chances are, you’re unfamiliar with “RHODC,” as very few people ever watched it. However, you may know of the couple that drew the ire of the cast members — Michaele and Tareq Salahi. In November 2009, the Salahis allegedly crashed the White House’s state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The White House released the official photo of Michaele and Tareq during a receiving line. The bottle blonde is all smiles as she tenderly cups the president’s hand. The only problem with the photo is that the Salahis were in it, but they were so not on the guest list. (Their attorney says they did not crash the White House and were not charged with a crime).

Well, actually, Michaele told “The View” that it was just a misunderstanding. “If you ever attended the White House, you have to have proper clearance. You don’t just go there, you have to be vetted.”

That misunderstanding may have contributed to Desiree Rogers’ resignation.

A few days later, the Salahis allegedly crashed the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner, and reportedly entered that event through the service entrance.

Another misunderstanding, Michaele cooed, “People have fun hating other people.”

The controversy surrounding the Salahis should have been a ratings magnet, but unlike “Real Housewives of Atlanta”’s firecracker, NeNe Leakes, who does have her fair share of supporters, there was nothing likable about the Salahis.

And the D.C. franchise was built around Michaele. As she proudly boasted, “I was the first wife casted. It wasn’t an audition.”

Perhaps there should have been a screen test or, at least, a lie-detector test.

According to Bravo’s Andy Cohen, the network wants “RHODC” to return, but only with Michaele. The other wives said absolutely not and refuse to work with her.

(Do you hear that sound? That’s the sound of Desiree Rogers laughing her pretty little head off.)

On her Facebook fan page, Michaele posted a link: “Bravo Wants Michaele to Return to Real Housewives of D.C.”
