So much for Lil Wayne’s plan for global domination — at least when it comes to touring. The mercurial Martian rapper’s application for a visa was denied, thereby canceling his plans for a European leg of his I Am Music II tour.
The tour, which is wildly popular in the U.S., was expected to expand for several European dates. The UK Border Agency, however, had other ideas. Wayne’s application for a visa was rejected based on his criminal past.
This isn’t the first time that the UK Border Agency has arrived at such a decision. They’ve also denied visas to Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes in the past for similar criminal histories.
With his rejection in tow, Lil Wayne will presumably get back to placing the finishing touches on his highly anticipated Tha Carter IV album. Guess the old adage does ring true … crime doesn’t pay.
