Drake and Nicki Minaj Interview Each Other

When it comes to hip-hop buddies, no pair is more dynamic right now than pseudo-romantic Young Money stars Drake and Nicki Minaj.

Playing up their intriguing friendship, the two recently took on the mantle of journalists for MTV News and interviewed each other about the current I Am Music II tour and their upcoming albums.

Starting off the interview, Drake, gushing over Nicki, asked the Pink Friday rapper what her favorite part of her show is.

“You want to know what, Drizzy? I really love busting out from underneath the floor doing ‘Roman’s Revenge,’ ” Nicki told Drake. “When I say, ‘I’ll kick that h-, punt!’ When I say, ‘B—-, if you ain’t sh—–‘ then get off the pot,’ we really connect.”

Next up, Drake questions Nicki about when fans can expect to hear any new music the raptress, who’s set to tour with Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour this summer.

“Well, you know, Drizzy, I have been keeping everything sort of stored inside of me,” Nicki said. “So I’m just in complete tour mode. Yeah, I’ve been getting a lot of requests to do some features, but if I can’t give myself wholeheartedly, I always pass. I definitely never want to be just doing too many features that they start getting watered-down and I’m not giving my whole, true self. So I think that once we’re off the tour with Brit, we’ll start.”

Although Nicki is keeping her features to a minimum in the future, the emcee explained that she’ll always make exceptions for her Young Money family and when asked if she’d be on Drake’s upcoming album, Take Care, Nicki jokingly replies that she’ll pencil him in.

Nicki then turns the tables on Drake and begins interviewing him, asking the Thank Me Later rapper, who’s been touring the U.K., how it feels to be reunited with his Young Money camp.

“I truly enjoy these moments,” Drake answered. “Especially being in New Orleans. Actually, New Orleans was the first place that I ever really realized that my music was getting out there. I remember walking outside the W [hotel], and there was a guy out there selling mixtapes and he had So Far Gone. I couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t even mad. You usually think you’ll be mad when there’s a bootlegger, but I was super excited.”

When asked about his recent hairy and scruffy appearance, Drake reveals that he donned the look for a role he’d nabbed in the upcoming film Arbitrage alongside Susan Sarandon and Al Pacino. However, Drake explained that he has “decided to work on my album instead of doing that particular film. So I’m just gonna keep the look now.”
