“White people are always stealing from us?”
“Can’t they have one original idea?”
“You know that black people created rock ‘n’ roll, right?”
Visit any barbershop or hair salon, and if the conversation somehow steers toward the exploits of a white “trendsetter,” then I’m sure that a comment along the lines of the previous statements would somehow make its way into the discussion. You see, there’s this underlying belief that when it comes to trends, black Americans typically lead the way. Along with that belief, there’s also the notion that whites oftentimes get credit for creating trends that have already been discovered.
One trend that may soon be taking over is that of being ghetto (fingers crossed). With white America’s fascination with hip-hop culture growing faster than Kim Kardashian’s plastic surgery bill, one has to wonder if they will eventually claim many of the unfortunate traits often associated with black America.
Will white people start a new trend in gold teeth?
Will they spark the rebirth of malt liquor?
Or will they create a white version of 2 Live Crew that leads to a booty-shaking renaissance?
Well, that all remains to be seen. But the following video may provide a sneak peek into what the future may hold for our Caucasian brothers and sisters. Check it out.
