With the natural hair market growing at a rapid pace in the African American community, the World Natural Hair Show was definitely the place to become further educated on the many options to style your ‘do … for men and women. From the familiar lines like Miss Jessie’s and Mizani to the rookies in town like Camille Rose Naturals and the Huetiful Hair Steamer, this show offered every product, service and treatment under the sun.
Much like the Bronner Brothers Hair Show, professional workshops were offered for stylists who wished to expand their skills in loc extensions and weaving, basic and advanced hair coloring, micro braiding corrections, and Malaysian braidless weave. Attendees also benefited from free workshops on the political and social side of natural hair, a workshop about colonics, and even a zumba fitness party with LaWanda “The Fitness Diva.”
We can’t forget the 2011 World’s Next Top Natural Hair Model winner, Folami Ankoanda-Thompson. Attendees had a chance to meet the natural hair queen at her booth where she shared her excitement about representing the beauty of natural hair to the world for years to come.
